JK Environmental wins £1.5 million CCTV project

JK Environmental Limited win £1.5 million CCTV project with Thames Water

JK Environmental Services Limited (JKe) has been awarded a £1.5m project to survey Thames Water's 400km (400,000 meters) of foul, surface water and combined drainage in Leyton, East Ham and Harrow.

JKe will use state-of-the art CCTV inspection technology, jetting & deep vacuumation recovery equipment to clean and inspect the entire network. The aim of the project is to establish root cause issues in the existing pipe network, and then clear the way to repair any problems which are discovered. Undertaking this extensive work will improve the experience of many customers when they use water at home.

By carrying out this type survey work, problems such as large scale pollution or collapses can be avoided as well as gaining valuable in-depth data of asset conditions. The CCTV survey will also be used to help Thames Water improve the accuracy of the records it holds about private and public drains and sewers.

Jim Eldred, CCTV Manager at JKe, said: "We are delighted to be working on this project for Thames which will improve the condition of the drainage network in the area. To deliver the project we have created a bespoke team with more than 20 full time dedicated personnel. To ensure we deliver the work to the highest standard."

JK Environmental is owned by British Gas and is based in Royston, Hertfordshire. The company offers waste management services for a range of sectors, including major infrastructure projects for utilities and civil engineering companies, as well as many other industrial and commercial customers. It has also invested in technology which substantially reduces landfill costs and works towards a zero waste output.
